It’s time for some more Ableton Basics, but this time we’re delving a little deeper into what this DAW can do. To begin using Ableton Live as a musical sketchpad for fleshing out licks, riffs, and full-fledged songs, you have to start using some of its more accessible features, and what better place to start than instrument looping, transposition, and tempo changes? With Ableton Live, you can pick pre-recorded drum loops, record your own loops, and then change it all up thanks to the program’s tempo elasticity, or even turn your guitar riff into a bass line with the built-in transposition features.
