Gibson Dove Natural 2022

Electric Soul presents the Gibson Dove acoustic guitar. This is a 2022 model with a natural top finish and a red back.

The Dove is one of Gibson’s classic and most iconic models. It has excellent technical specifications and a striking American folk-style appearance. Rich inlays, bindings, the characteristic pickguard with a white dove, and the decorative bridge are features everyone associates with this timeless guitar. It truly looks like a stage instrument and is considered one of the most recognizable acoustic guitars in pop culture. Artists such as Elvis Presley, Bob Dylan, and many other top music stars have been seen playing this model.

The Dove model was introduced in the early 1960s. It is the younger brother of the equally famous Gibson Hummingbird, launched two years later. The main difference is its slightly more modern 25.5-inch scale length. Of course, the guitar is made entirely of solid wood. It features a spruce top with maple back and sides, all finished in nitrocellulose lacquer.

This instrument is an excellent all-purpose acoustic guitar. It works great for blues rock, folk, country, and all modern genres inspired by vintage music. The Dove can be the ultimate songwriter’s guitar, a frequently used studio instrument, and a powerful stage companion.

Another advantage is the factory-installed L.R. Baggs VTC electronics. This makes amplification or recording possible without using microphones.

This particular guitar is 4 years old but looks almost like new. There are some cosmetic signs of use (small surface scratches and one small dent on the side), but nothing significant, and it would be hard to expect more from a used instrument. Technically, it is every bit as good as a brand-new example. The frets are in excellent condition, and everything works perfectly from the tuners and truss rod adjustment to the electronics. The setup is flawless, and the guitar is adjusted and ready to play.
