The Fender® American Vintage II series presents an especially thoughtful reimagining of the revolutionary designs that changed the course of music history. Crafted with historically correct bodies, necks and tuners, high-class finishes and with the utmost attention to tone, with vintage-specific pickups, each instrument captures the essence of the most authentic Fender craftsmanship and tones.

During the late 1950s and early 1960s, the popularity of Fender musical instruments continually grew, and although the Fender assortment expanded to include many great new instruments, the Stratocaster® reigned supreme. By 1961, the Stratocaster was distinguished by a more refined aesthetic, with a reformulated 3-Color Sunburst, with a more vibrant red and a deeper black border, complemented by the 3-ply pickguard that accentuates its unmistakable curves.

With a superior quality alder body, a trio of Pure Vintage 1961 Stratocaster pickups and a Medium “C” profile maple neck combined with a 7.25” radius slab rosewood fingerboard, the American Stratocaster Vintage II 1961 reproduces the entire sound and feel of the original. Other features include a historically correct "synchronized tremolo" with cold-rolled steel blocks, folded steel saddles, “Fender Deluxe” in-line tuners and 3-ply pickguard.

The instruments of the American Vintage II series are the direct descendants of the original Fender: designed for musicians who really appreciate vintage Fender tones and response, they are built with inimitable quality, right down to the last screw. These are Fender electrics in their purest form: Fender American Vintage II, this is what legends are made of.
