The SLG100S is Yamaha's first generation of steel-string "Silent Guitars." Designed primarily for headphone practice, travel, and live performance, its compact body produces very little acoustic volume, while the electronic system delivers an amplified acoustic sound without feedback issues. It features a mahogany neck, maple body, rosewood fingerboard and bridge, and an LR Baggs piezo/sensor system under the nut with volume, bass, treble, and two levels of built-in reverb. It also includes a headphone output, a line out, and an AUX input for playing with an external source. The left side frame is detachable, making it particularly convenient to transport.
