The J-35, a monthly limited edition model highly popular among Gibson flat-top enthusiasts, is a guitar that recreates the look, feel, and sound of a vintage model actually produced for a short period from 1936 to 1943, using modern technology. The top is made of Adirondack red spruce treated with Gibson's "thermally aged" process. It features mahogany sides and back, a 44mm triangle mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard and rectangular bridge, Grover open-back tuners, a script headstock logo, pearl fingerboard dots, a firestripe pickguard, a simple rosette, scalloped X-bracing, and a vintage sunburst color. The top bracing and neck joint are glued using the traditional hide glue method. The thermally aged top provides a dynamic response and a crisp, dry tone. There are many dents, scratches, and paint wear from use, but no major damage such as cracks. The neck condition is good. An original hard case is included.
