Queen's Brian May has been beknighted, and no, we're not talking about the March 2023 ceremony where King Charles tapped the guitar great's shoulder.
Vox has created a new signature amp—the MV50 Brian May—that brings May's singular tone to the masses, in an adorably compact enclosure. And, they've even shrank it down further in a new Brian May Limited Edition amPlug headphone amp built for the occasion.
The MV50 Brian May & Signature amPlug
12.5 to 50 watts of selectable AC30 tone, packed into a five-kilogram amp head and speaker cabinet, the MV50 Brian May delivers the height of stadium rock tone in a pint-sized package.
Powered by Vox's Nutubes—the company's re-engineering of miniature visual display vacuum tubes for audio—this signature MV50 has all the features fans love about original MV50s, but also adds the Knight Audio Technologies (KAT) treble booster. AKA, a secret potion to the Queen guitar tone.
“It's perfect for any smaller show, and if you want to put a mic in front of it, it'll do for your big gigs as well," Brian May said in a press release. "I wouldn't mind going on some future stadium gig and seeing how this shapes up."
The amp's line/headphone out also features speaker emulation, letting you record directly from the amp head or practice without a cab.
At the Korg USA Warehouse Direct store on Reverb, the MV50 Brian May is available in a collector's set with matching head and cab in red casing, plus memorabilia like a keychain and postcards. All for just $399.
The MV50 Brian May is also available as a standalone head for $249.
To go one smaller, Vox is offering the amPlug Brian May, a headphone amp that offers killer Queen tone anytime...
