Earlier this summer, Fender partnered with My Bloody Valentine frontman Kevin Shields on a limited edition signature pedal, the Fender Shields Blender. Following such a positive response from fans, Fender is now bringing the pedal into standard production for the masses.
The standard production pedal is the exact same versatile multi-fuzz and octave effect introduced earlier this year. Not only does it feature a hand-copied version of the original Blender circuit in channel one, but it also features a powerful octave blender in channel two and a Shields-inspired footswitchable sag circuit to boot.
The sag circuit is the feature that Shields, a longtime fan and user of the Fender Blender, always wished the original pedal had. It is very sensitive to a player's picking dynamics and can emulate the tone of maxed out tubes. If you're looking to make Shields-inspired sounds, this is the way to get them.
