Fender Stratocaster 1999-2003 - Partcaster *** major upgrades***

This is an amazing Strat that I put together in 2003/4

It is a 2003 2 piece solid ash body with a solid maple 1999 neck with a little light flame and a 9.5" radius. (Now, it might be the other way around in terms of years but that's what I recall.

I stripped the body and gave it 3 coats of Danish oil. There are some tooling marks and some dings and stains. It did at least 1000 gigs, so all the considered it's in good shape. It is chamfered around the neck joint for better access and routed out behind the trem block in order to be able to upwang. I was a Jeff Beck Wannabee....

It has a set of Lindy Fralin classic Stratocaster pups from the same period. Much better than the Fenders, the Lace Sensors or the Hot Rods in my opinion - better low end definition and warmer than the Lace Sensors. I've had them all and these are closer to my '64 Strat than anything. It has a Bill Callaham cold-rolled steel trem block which really improves the sustain and definition of the notes. It is a cold rolled steel arm as well with stainless steel saddles. The ash gives a rich Stratocaster sound with plenty of low mid punch.

It also includes an Eric Clapton mid boost tone pot, being wired a la Jeff Beck, with the back EC tone pot covering both middle and treble pups. The treble pickup has a base plate which makes it fatter but adding the mid boost past the detente risks squealing. Just so you know.

It is currently set up for upwang a minor third at the twelfth fret. This can be easily adjusted.

For me, it's the perfect Strat, but I've retired and don't need a top level instrument anymore.

The bone nut has lots of graphite dust to help the strings slide.
