I bought this brand new from Thomann in 2016, with the intention of using it as a timecode source for some programming experiments. You can control it via MMC and use the GEN mode to have it generate MTC which your apps/instruments/sequencers can then sync to. However, it turned out it wouldn't do what I wanted it to, apparently because as it's class-compliant , there's no custom driver to tell CoreMIDI that it generates MTC, so it wouldn't be able to recognise it. TBH I'm still not sure I buy that - I think there may have been an error between the screen and the chair - but, regardless, I gave up, and it's been sitting practically brand new in its box, desperately lonely with only its deadly silent manual, cable and rack ears to keep it company.
But now, YOU can buy it! And it can give you the rock-solid MTC or (SMPTE) LTC streams you crave so dearly. What joys shall be yours! How fulfilled it shall be! Timing steady enough to make brave men weep! Etc. Also, they're only just coming back into production and will likely be going for £600+ when they come. I want to sell mine, so it's priced to go.
Go on, it's not doing anyone any good in my cupboard.
