The “K” in the KLS model designation refers to a special-order model made for Kurosawa Gakki in Japan. The woods used for these models were hand-selected and carefully matched before the guitar entered production. In a way, it can be understood as a dealer-selected run, similar to special hand-picked runs made for major Gibson dealers — even more selective than a standard Custom Shop production model.
Under sunlight, the 5A flame maple top shows very clearly, and the Madagascar rosewood fingerboard also has beautiful figuring. Combined with the classic Cherry Sunburst finish, it is simply a stunning guitar.
