This is a truly fantastic sounding tube studio microphone of excellent USA build quality and good looks too... ;-)
It has one of the nicest Highs I've ever heard on a "budget" microphone and the overall sound character is pretty much a Neumann U67 (and you know how much that one costs... ;-), especially with a vintage Telefunken tube, which I will also include in this sale for a happy new owner :-)!
Charter Oak sa538 by design, does seem to have a slightly higher self noise than most newer tube mics, but it was never a problem for me in a real recording situation, plus with today's noise removal plugin technology, I don't think it's an issue at all!
