About this listing
For sale is a 2011 Ibanez JEM77FP2 Steve Vai Signature, made in Japan, with its original hardshell case. The FP2 is Ibanez’s modern version of Vai’s famous late-’80s floral JEM. The finish isn’t paint or a print. It’s real floral fabric laid over the body and matching headstock and sealed under clear coat, so no two guitars look exactly alike. The pattern comes from the curtains in Steve’s own home. The FP2 was only made from 2010 to 2018, and it’s one of the most distinctive JEMs Ibanez has built. This one plays great. The neck feels smooth and fast, and the DiMarzio pickups sound clear and articulate in every position, from glassy in-between tones to full lead sounds.Condition: The guitar has been well looked after and kept in its case.SpecsBody: American basswood, Monkey Grip handle, Lion’s Claw tremolo cavityNeck: JEM Prestige 5-piece maple/walnut, bolt-on with tilt joint and sculpted heelFingerboard: Rosewood, red Tree of Life inlay, scalloped at frets 21–24Frets: 24 jumbo frets with Prestige fret edge treatmentScale length: 25.5"Bridge: Ibanez Edge locking tremoloPickups: DiMarzio Evolution humbucker (neck), DiMarzio Evolution single-coil (middle), DiMarzio Evo2 humbucker (bridge), HSHControls: Volume, tone, 5-way selectorHardware: ChromeIncluded: Original Ibanez hardshell case [+ trem arm / multitool / strap / paperwork, if you have them]
