About this listing
This is a truly stunning 2002 Yamano-ordered 1960 Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul Standard reissue—without question the best-looking R0 plaintop we’ve ever had through the doors at Gas Station Guitars.Yamano representatives travelled to the U.S. to personally select these instruments before bringing them back to Japan, and this one is a standout example. Finished in a beautifully lemon burst, it features a two-piece AA maple plaintop. The nitrocellulose finish has naturally mellowed into that soft, lightly glazed look usually only seen with age or a factory VOS treatment—it’s an exceptional plaintop by any standard. It’s not just about looks either—this is a superb player. The guitar remains completely original, fitted with its factory Burst Buckers, and weighs a comfortable 4kg, which is nicely light for an R0. There are no issues whatsoever—no breaks, repairs, or modifications. It shows only light, honest playwear, with a pleasing patina across the hardware that gives it a beautifully aged character. Overall, it easily qualifies as excellent condition. Any small white specks visible in the photos are simply case dust.It comes complete with the original Custom Shop Art Historic hard shell case, also in great condition, along with all case candy. Gibson hadn't yet started issuing COA in 2002.A very special 1960 Custom Shop reissue.
