About this listing
We have received a 1999 Gibson Custom Shop Byrdland Vintage Sunburst! * This is a pre-certification model, and since the manuals and other accessories are missing, we have determined it to be a 1999 model based on the serial number and specifications. The "Byrdland" was introduced in 1955 as Gibson's first archtop electric guitar. The model name is a combination of the names of country and rockabilly guitarists Billy Byrd and Hank Garland. The model we have received is a Byrdland Vintage Sunburst, crafted by the Custom Shop in 1999. While it shares the same body shape as the L-5 and appears similar at first glance, it features a thinner body that is easier to hold. The body features a spruce top and flamed maple sides and back. The neck is a 5-piece construction of maple and walnut, with an ebony fingerboard. The neck profile is slightly thinner for a comfortable grip. The hardware is finished in gold, and the tailpiece is engraved with the word "BYRDLAND," giving this guitar a premium feel. It is equipped with two original "57 Classic" pickups. The 57 Classic, which recreates the vintage "PAF" pickup, pairs perfectly with this solid-body guitar, delivering crisp high-mids and sweet harmonics. This guitar allows you to fully appreciate the airy resonance unique to hollow-body instruments. Regarding the condition, there are areas with scratches, dents, and paint cracks throughout the body. There are signs of crack repair and refinishing on the back of the neck. Additionally, the pickguard shows signs of warping and cracking. The front escutcheon has been replaced from the original. While there are signs of wear, this is a rare Birdland model that is not commonly found on the used market, so please consider taking advantage of this opportunity!! * Please note that due to the nature of the product, we are unable to transfer it between stores.
