The EVH Limited Edition Frankie Aged Black and Yellow Striped captures the raw spirit and legendary tone that defined a generation of rock music. This meticulously crafted tribute to Eddie Van Halen’s most iconic instrument delivers authentic EVH performance with the unmistakable visual impact of the famous striped Frankie finish.
Featuring Eddie’s signature black and yellow paint job with an aged relic look, the Frankie is built with a Stratocaster®-style basswood body paired with a graphite-reinforced quartersawn maple neck. The oiled neck back provides hours of playing comfort, while the 12”–16” compound radius maple fingerboard with 22 jumbo frets is designed for fast, aggressive playing styles.
Routed for an HSS pickup configuration like Eddie’s original, the Frankie includes an EVH Wolfgang® humbucker in the bridge and an EVH Strat® single-coil neck pickup with a red phenolic bobbin (activated via push/push volume control), along with a dummy five-way switch positioned in the middle slot.
A solid and reliable EVH-branded Floyd Rose® locking tremolo system, combined with a Floyd Rose locking nut, ensures precise tuning stability even under extreme pitch changes. The EVH D-Tuna® allows instant and accurate switching to drop-D tuning with a simple flick.
Additional exclusive features include a single Strat-style volume control with black skirted knob and push/push function (labeled as “tone”), a custom black pickguard, aged black hardware, oversized strap buttons, and an EVH neck plate.
