The 2018 Gibson Memphis ES-335 Block – Figured Heritage Cherry represents one of the last and most highly regarded versions of the iconic American semi-hollow guitar built at Gibson’s Memphis factory, which closed in 2019. Continuing a tradition that has made the ES-335 a benchmark since 1958, this instrument combines the warmth and harmonic richness of a semi-hollow guitar with the versatility and sustain of a solid-body.
The laminated maple body, featuring a maple centre block, provides an excellent balance of natural resonance, feedback control and dynamic response. The mahogany neck, paired with a rosewood fingerboard, offers outstanding comfort and effortless playability, while the 22 medium jumbo frets ensure precise fretting and smooth bends.
Equipped with acclaimed Gibson MHS (Memphis Historic Spec) humbuckers, this ES-335 delivers an open, harmonically rich and exceptionally dynamic tone. Clean sounds are warm and well defined, while overdrive brings out sustain, articulation and a vintage character ideally suited to blues, jazz, classic rock, pop and fusion.
The elegant Figured Heritage Cherry finish highlights the wood’s natural figuring, giving the instrument a timeless appearance with unmistakable Gibson character.
Weighing just 3.26 kg, this ES-335 is particularly comfortable on stage and in the studio, offering excellent balance and a highly responsive feel.
Complete with its original Gibson Memphis hardshell case, Certificate of Authenticity (COA) and original documentation, it is one of the final instruments produced at the historic Memphis factory.
