Very Good condition, 7.5/10, Made in USA, including original softshell case, the neck and headstock have been stripped and clear-coated. The logo appears to be original but is missing its upper section.

This guitar has received several costly upgrades that has transformed it to a great playing instrument, including modern Grover 18:1 Sta-Tite tuners, replaced frets, modern tune-o-matic bridge, rewound pickups, replaced pots and jack, more info:
Overview
The Kay Value Leader series was a lower-end line produced by Kay in the early '60s. Most of these guitars featued a long chrome pickguard on the treble side of the body, though some had a parallel guard on the bass side as well. This guitar was made with either one, two, or three pickups, known as the K1961, K1962, and K1963 respectively.
The single pickup version is less valuable than the two and three pickup models.
