Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome. You are looking at a high quality Electro Voice 627A dynamic cardioid microphone made during the 1970's currently set at Hi Z. Made in Buchanan, Michigan this little stick mic comes in it's original black finish. It also comes with the Audix model mic clip shown, the new Auray black exterior pop filter as well as the cable in which to operate. This will make an excellent mic for general broadcasting, singing or recording purposes as it was intended and these happen to make excellent harp mics. One of the finer mics made by E.V over the decades. Pic # 2 shows this very model in an older E.V catalog I have showing it's basic characteristics. The 627 series first came out in the 1960's and was sold for about 25 years being a very popular and successful model but was eventually discontinued around the late 1980's I believe. I have actually seen these used for singing purposes from a few artists at live shows over the years and I always get a kick out of that because so few people seem to even know what these mics are anymore? This mic has been tested and has a perfect working element with strong output. A very nice clear tone. Virtually no bass to it being much more mid range in nature. The 627A is a lite weight all metal design that is appx 6 1/4 inches long X 1 1/2 inches wide at the front grill. A very lite weight mic that is easy to hold for prolonged periods of time. This microphone is in very good overall condition with the only wear coming from typical wear on the handle. No odors or dents on the front grill either. Please let the detailed pics be your guide. The mic has a new inner foam screen (pop filter) which needed to be replaced. The E.V label looks excellent and the on / off switch slides smooth with zero issues. Overall this 627A is physically a very conservative 7 + on a scale of 1 - 10 though some would rate higher. The inner foam pop filter was replaced on this mic which helps to improve the sound characteristics but I'm also including a brand new exterior pop filter for even better performance. The new Auray pop filter fits like a glove and looks great on this mic. You don't need it for every situation but it's good to know it's there if you need it. The Audix model mic clip is in excellent condition and works great for this microphone. It gives the user a wide degree of tilt up and down as needed. It has a side thumb screw to adjust the tension easily and quickly. It grips the mic nicely and the clip will screw onto any desk or floor stand you have as well. The cable had to be rebuilt as it has soldering connection issues but that's all worked now. The cable is appx 12 feet long. It's soft, pliable and great if you are a bit closer to your audio equipment. The cable has a standard male 1/4 inch end connector. Cable is free of damage and works perfectly. Just as clean as the mic. If you demand an excellent working 627A to use frequently...this is your mic. MICROPHONE STAND SHOWN IS NOT PART OF THIS SALE...FOR DISPLAY PURPOSES ONLY.
