This pedal is in very good playing condition with the expected cosmetic wear from a 45 year old pedal. We have tested it with both a battery and a vintage ACA adaptor, both methods of power are working well with no issues. The battery clip is in good condition with no corrosion. All the pots are working well with no scratchiness or issues as well.Originally released in 1978, the DS-1 was the first distortion pedal offered by Boss. From 1978 until 1980/81, these pedals were made with a Toshiba TA7136 preamp IC instead of the modern version which uses an op-amp. This makes for a noticeably different tone from a modern DS-1. This particular serial number comes back as 1981 with the specific Toshiba IC model being the TA7136AP.
