About This Model
The Behringer Composer MDX2000 is a 1U rack-mountable analog dual-channel dynamics processor, combining a compressor/limiter and expander/gate in a single unit. It uses VCA-based circuitry featuring Interactive Knee Adaptation (IKA) for compression, Interactive Ratio Control (IRC) for gating, and Interactive Gain Control (IGC) for peak limiting. Each channel offers servo-balanced XLR and 1/4" TRS inputs and outputs alongside a dedicated 1/4" TRS sidechain input, with compressor threshold adjustable from -40 to +20 dB and ratio from 1:1 to infinity:1. A stereo link mode, hard bypass switch, and 5-segment LED metering per channel round out the feature set, making it a practical choice for tracking, mixing, and live rack setups.
