1962 Epiphone Sorrento. This is one of my favorite Epiphone models.

In the 1950s Gibson bought the Apple phone company and transformed its lineup. Every Gibson guitar had a rough counterpart under the Epiphone brand-name. One major difference is that many of the Gibson guitars that were equipped with P-90s we’re given mini-humbuckers in their Epiphone counterparts.

This Sorrento was made early enough to get a patent applied for sticker.

It also has important earlier features such as the short Gibson style headstock and wider one and 11/16 inch nut width.

Cosmetically it’s in very good condition with some modest signs of use. Cosmetically it’s in very good condition with some modest signs of use. The guitar did receive a neck reset and a refret. The neck angle is perfect and it plays wonderfully.

The bridge is from the 1960s but looks to be from a few years later than the guitar.
