About this listing
The Rupert Neve Designs 5057 Orbit combines classic analogue summing with the flexibility of a digital workflow, adding depth, warmth, and dimension to in-the-box mixes. Featuring a high-headroom Class-A mix buss and custom Rupert Neve transformers, the Orbit delivers exceptional clarity, rich harmonic character, and an expansive stereo image. The renowned Silk Red and Blue modes, combined with a variable Texture control, allow precise adjustment of harmonic saturation, ranging from subtle warmth to pronounced analogue colouration. Custom dual-tap output transformers provide both standard and -6 dB outputs, allowing the mix buss to be driven harder for additional harmonic richness without overloading downstream equipment. Individual mono switches make it easy to position important elements such as vocals, kick, snare, and bass precisely in the centre of the stereo image. The Orbit also offers excellent channel accuracy, minimal crosstalk, and the ability to expand the system by linking additional Rupert Neve Designs summing units. Housed in a compact 1U chassis, the 5057 Orbit provides an elegant way to integrate genuine analogue summing into a modern studio while maintaining the convenience and repeatability of DAW-based mixing.
