About this listing
The Dunlop DVP5 Volume (X) 8 Pedal is a versatile, passive volume and expression pedal designed for smooth volume swells, precise real-time control and efficient pedalboard integration. Developed in collaboration with Pedaltrain, its extended 8-inch treadle is designed to provide comfortable, controlled operation while fitting efficiently on compatible pedalboards.Combining Volume, Expression and a dedicated Tuner Out in one compact unit, the DVP5 is an excellent choice for traditional guitar and bass rigs, as well as modern digital setups featuring amp modelers and multi-effects processors.VOLUME CONTROLThe DVP5 features a smooth, progressive volume response powered by Dunlop's patented Low Friction Band-Drive mechanism. It allows you to move naturally between full output and silence, making it suitable for volume swells, dynamic playing, precise level adjustments and seamless transitions between musical passages. The volume circuit uses a 250 kΩ potentiometer. With the pedal fully heel-down, the output signal is muted, allowing you to silence your instrument without reaching for your amplifier or another pedal.EXPRESSION CONTROLThe dedicated EXP jack allows the DVP5 to function as an expression pedal for compatible effects pedals, multi-effects units and digital guitar processors.Using a TRS (stereo) cable, you can control assignable parameters such as delay time, modulation depth, effect mix, reverb intensity or other supported functions directly with your foot. The expression circuit uses a 10 kΩ potentiometer and includes an internal trim control for adjusting the minimum heel-down value. An internal switch allows you to reverse the heel-down and toe-down response to suit your preferred setup and the connected device. This makes the DVP5 particularly useful for players who want hands-on control over their digital rig without navigating menus during a performance.DEDICATED TUNER OUTThe TUNER output provides a constant instrument signal to your tuner, regardless of the pedal's current position. This means you can keep your tuner connected and ready to use without interrupting the signal feeding your amplifier or effects chain. The tuner connection remains active even when the volume pedal is fully heel-down.For musicians who value a clean, organised pedalboard, this dedicated output is a particularly practical feature.ADJUSTABLE PEDAL FEELThe DVP5 features adjustable treadle resistance, allowing you to increase or decrease the pedal's operating tension to suit your playing style. Its internal controls also provide adjustment of the expression mode's minimum value and the heel/toe response. Together with the low-friction band-drive mechanism, these features offer a more personalised playing feel.TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONSModel: Dunlop DVP5 Volume (X) 8Type: Passive volume / expression pedalVolume potentiometer: 250 kΩExpression potentiometer: 10 kΩDrive mechanism: Patented Low Friction Band-DriveInput: 1/4" (6.35 mm) mono jackOutput: 1/4" (6.35 mm) mono jackExpression output: 1/4" (6.35 mm) TRS stereo jackTuner output: 1/4" (6.35 mm) mono jackInternal controls: Expression minimum-value trim and heel/toe polarity reversalTreadle resistance: AdjustablePower requirements: None; passive operationDimensions (L × W × H): Approx. 203 × 102 × 76 mm (8 × 4 × 3 inches)Weight: Approx. 0.95 kg (2.1 lbs)IDEAL FORGuitarists and bassists seeking smooth volume control and swellsPlayers who need expression control for compatible effects and digital processorsPedalboards requiring a dedicated tuner feedHybrid rigs combining traditional pedals with digital amp modelersMusicians looking for a practical three-function solution in a single pedalPractically new condition, complete with all original accessories and case candy.Purchased new specifically for a customer pedalboard build by Vanborn Vintage Guitars, but ultimately not used in the final setup. The pedal is in practically new condition and comes complete with all original accessories and case candy.
