A highlight of our own personal collection, and now for sale is this exceptionally original, near-mint 1966 Rickenbacker 365 (New Style) finished in a rare Mapleglo finish. It is complete with its original grey rectangular hard case with blue plush interior.
Essentially a 360 fitted with a tremolo tailpiece, this 365 is among the cleanest examples we have encountered—if not the cleanest currently available on the vintage market! Not only is it remarkably well preserved for an instrument of 60 years of age, but finding a Mapleglo example of this calibre is an exceptionally rare opportunity.
Entirely original throughout, it has clearly seen only light use and has been meticulously cared for over the decades. Aside from a few very extremely light surface marks and a small indentation on the rear of the neck (both pictured), this guitar easily falls into collector-grade territory. The lacquered fretboard shows no wear, while the original small vintage frets remain in excellent condition with plenty of life left.
Fully functional and free from any breaks, repairs, or structural issues, it feels superb in hand and is a joy to play. Both original vintage toaster pickups are strong and articulate, delivering the unmistakable Rickenbacker chime and clarity these instruments are renowned for.
Weighing in at a comfortable 6.83 lbs, it is also wonderfully lightweight.
To sum up, a once in a blue moon vintage Rickenbacker, in near-unplayed condition.. Yikes!
