Up for sale is a beautiful and highly collectible 100% original vintage Maxon D&S Distortion/Sustainer OD-801, hand-built in Japan by Nisshin Onpa in 1981. This legendary turquoise enclosure model belongs to the highly coveted 0-series family sharing the same chassis style as the mythical TS-808 and represents the ultimate Japanese take on the vintage Electro-Harmonix Big Muff circuit. Based on the 6-digit serial number 118567, this unit is verified as a 1981 production model. Inside, the circuit board is fully immaculate and completely untouched, proudly bearing the correct MAXON KU MP-DO1001A stamping with its original discreet four-transistor layout, vintage Japanese Nichicon blue radial capacitors, and undisturbed factory solder joints. Mechanically and cosmetically, the pedal is in great shape for its age with honest light paint chips along the edges that add a great authentic vintage look. It retains its three original black plastic pointer knobs, the original battery clip with its internal protective grey foam pad, and the Japanese instructional bottom label with the serial sticker perfectly intact. Whether you are looking for that ultimate creamy David Gilmour style violin sustain or a premium addition to a vintage pedal collection, this all-original Japanese masterpiece delivers. Worldwide shipping is available, and the pedal will be packed safely and securely.
