Up for sale, a 1940's Dobro electric lap steel with Art Deco fretboard inlays and the original staple pickup. An uncommon and utilitarian model, this steel has a warm, rich sound that overdrives smoothly. Recently serviced, this steel boasts new pots and Kluson single line tuners to ensure that it plays its best.
The playing surface is etched with trapezoids outlining roman numerals, and the Dobro logo is similarly etched into the headstock face. The original chrome control plate/pickup cover is intact, with era correct chicken head knobs. As the photos show, there's plenty of surface wear, with the requisite nicks, scuffs, and finish flaking that accompanies many steels from this era. Overall, this is a great vintage steel with a silky smooth tone and a recently serviced example that's ready for stage and studio use.
