About this listing
Taylor is excited to unveil a category of doublecourse instruments inspired by the Latin/Mexican musical influences. Taylor Guitars is releasing a modified 12string guitar that is strung in unison instead of octaves. The result is a more requinto style set up executed with the Taylor standard of playability and craftmanship. It's sometimes referred to as a Mexican 12string and Taylor is calling this instrument the Doce Doble, which translates into "double 12." It produces a bold and resonant doublecourse voice.Taylor Guitars master builder Andy Powers has applied the same fundamental design standards that Taylor is known for in the acoustic guitar world easyplaying necks, clear, balanced sound, consistently high build quality and reliable performance to craft a unison 12 string guitar that delivers a fun and inspiring "Taylorgrade" playing experience. Players will enjoy the inspiration in this unique instrument that includes the Latin experience and way beyond.Like the Bajo Quinto, the Doce Doble incorporates some of Taylor's existing body design architecture to craft a premiumperformance instrument using Taylor's Grand Pacific body style and VClass internal bracing. The Doce Doble features a solid maple/spruce Grand Pacific body with a Florentinestyle cutaway, white binding around the body, fretboard and peghead, a singlering green abalone rosette with black and white purfling, motherofpearl and grained ivoroid Mission inlays, a white pearloid truss rod cover, ebony bridge pins with green abalone dots, and gold Taylor mini tuners.Notable distinctions include a single white pearloid pickguard (instead of the double pickguard for the bajo quinto), D'Addario XS coated phosphor bronze lightgauge strings (double 12 stringing) featuring a doublemounted string anchoring system for a more consistent voicing response, and Taylor ES2 electronics. The guitar ships in a Taylor deluxe hardshell Western Floral case.Features:Grand Pacific Body ShapeSolid Sitka Spruce TopSolid Big Leaf Maple Back and SidesV Class BracingFlorentine CutawayWhite Pearloid PickguardTaylor Expression System 2 Electronics
