About this listing
1956 Gibson ES-225-T (with upgraded bridge and tailpiece)SN# V 3552 (6). Unfortunately this proves impossible to photograph, but it’s there allright… 🙄🙄🙄One of the 5.220 units made by Gibson between 1955 and 1959 – Gibson’s Greatest Days, often referred to as their "Golden Era". The FIRST thinline hollow body by Gibson. Magical late 50’ies-neck: broad and comfortable, great idea and design. P.U. = "Dog Ear" 50'ies P-90 has it all : warmth, definition, brightness, punch en lots of volume. Fully Original EXCEPT for the tailpiece and “tune-o-matic” bridge, which was a very common and useful upgrade in the past, as it actually improves the action and intonation accuracy significantly. (I don’t have the original wrap-around tailpiece, but this could be sourced quite easily online)From 1959 onwards, these "upgrades" were also offered standard on the newer Gibson guitars... "Players" knew what they wanted, and Gibson listened...Plays like a dream! Perfectly in order on all fronts. Low and comfortable action, accurate tuning, pots in perfect condition. Dot inlays, guitar body in impeccable condition with beautifully aged nitro finish, heavenly sounds and growls from the original 50'ies dog ear P-90… Gotta love this one. This could be YOUR "Golden Era" Gibson Thinline if you want it...! Comes with a new cool pink plush brown "Gator" case. Happy bidding !!!
