Northwest Vintage Guitars presents an original 1951 Gibson ES-125 with some unique original hardware. First off, everything is original except the pickguard. The eye-popping Brazilian Rosewood fretboard is clean and conditined. The tuners are definitely original but not typical for this model. They work smoothly and without issue. The tuner bushings are all there too. You get the original IRC Potentiometers with date codes of the 19th week of 1951, all original harness and electrical compnents, and the early 50's Gibson tall knobs in excellent condition. It's an original Gibson flat bottom P-90 that reads 6.7k ohms and has a warm clarity that matches well with it's woody and textured low end. The original tailpiece is uncommon for this model but we've confirmed without a doubt that it is original. The frets are original and have been leveled, crowned and polished. They're in very nice condition with 80% remaining - conservatively. The braces are all tight and there are no seam separations. It may have had a very nicely executed neck reset at one time. It sets up nicely and has perfect saddle height. It's a 24.75" scale, 12" radius, and weighs a scant 4.85 lbs. Comes safely packed in the case in the photos. The nut measures 1.7", neck depth is .93"-1.04" at the 1st and 10th frets respectively. It's a nice managable 50's C profile. Freshly strung and accurately intonated with American made Stainless Steel 11-50 flatwounds. The neck is straight, the truss rod turns in both directions, and the relief is currently set for optimum playability. There are a few scratches and dings as pictured. The saddle is not original, but the original is included. The clear pickguard is included but not original. The mounting hardware is original. It remains in excellent playable condition with no dead spots.
