The Focusrite Saffire Pro 24 is a portable Firewire / Thunderbolt audio interface perfect for bedroom studios, mixing, and overdubbing on the road. Two onboard preamps allow for connection of any mic, instrument or line level source you've got in the studio, capturing your sound with the pristine quality for which Focusrite is known, with two more line inputs and 10 channels of digital I/O via ADAT and SPDIF in case you want to expand with an OctoPre or other ADAT preamp to record the whole band at once.

Firewire gives you low latency times, but the Saffire Pro 24 also has a software-controlled DSP mixer to route all inputs directly to the output of your choice, taking latency pretty much out of the equation. If you've got a newer Mac that only has Thunderbolt ports, don't sweat it -- just grab a Firewire-to-Thunderbolt converter and the Saffire Pro 24 will work as intended.
