About this listing
DEMETERfs COMP-1 Compulator packs the full power of DEMETERfs compressor technology?a staple of studio equipment in the pro audio market?into a compact guitar and bass effects pedal. Built exclusively with high-end components and released after years of rigorous research, this compressor delivers a perfect sound. The Compulator COMP is a compressor pedal that utilizes an optical element for gain reduction?a technique widely used in studio equipment since the 1960s. Designer James Demeter developed the COMP-1 based on the legendary Teletronix LA-2A studio recording compressor. With its superb clarity, overwhelmingly excellent sound quality during gain reduction, rich density, and tight response across the entire frequency range, it is no exaggeration to say that the COMP-1fs sound is like an LA-2A in peak condition housed in a compact box. Furthermore, its wide dynamic range allows for a diverse range of sounds, from subtle enhancement to high-speed compression with wonderful textural detail.Gain reduction can be applied up to a maximum of 30 dB! The COMP-1 features an extremely gentle soft-knee compression curve. This makes it easy to achieve compression that is exceptionally clean, transparent, and precise. The Compress knob allows for precise, subtle adjustments, offering a wide range of compression levels. Furthermore, the subtle harmonics added during reduction create a warm, beautiful, and rich vintage texture. You can enjoy a musical compression sound thatfs a cut above the rest. Furthermore, the Volume knob allows you to adjust the output level without any loss of sound. You can perfectly balance the volume levels between when the effect is on and when it is off. The Trim Pot on the side of the unit also allows for fine-tuning the preamp gain of the compressor circuit. This is particularly effective when the output from an instrumentfs pickup is too high and causes distortion. It is factory-set to 20 dB and can be increased up to 26 dB if necessary. As the only compressor pedal effect to deliver professional-grade sound quality rivaling that of pro audio equipment, the Comp-1 Compulator continues to be a staple among many professional musicians. Its rugged body and meticulously assembled components ensure trouble-free operation even during grueling tours. It is in overall excellent condition. * Comes with original box Condition: B+: Some minor scratches, but no issues for normal use Serial Number: U005779 Case: Box * As this is a used item, there may be scratches, dents, or other imperfections that are not clearly visible in the photos or not listed here.
