Antique Russian balalaika. Amazing condition, absolutely fully playable!

This lovely balalaika was handmade in Russia, just around the brink of USSR formation. It carries out traditional methods of Russian luthiery as well as luxury inlays and decorative paitings.

It offers a solid wood construction consisting of spruce top and cherry body inlaied with walnut. There is a rosewood fretboard with perfectly straight maple neck.

This balalaika comes in amazing shape, especially for its age. It is 100% playable with great action. Original antique brass tuners work perfectly on each string.

The instrument was completely checked by a professional luthier and found to be in perfect condition. Besides handwritten notes on the headstock under the strings (no doubt to navigate a non experienced player), there is only a slight patina to be found in the finish. Otherwise, everything is perfect and well original.

I'll be happy to record a sound sample on request, this balalaika offers an incredible voice. Loud, yet well defined. Not to be compared with factory made balalaikas of younger era.
