Here is a Fuzz Face reissue from 1990. Few pedals are a sweeter sight than big, red fuzz face with Dallas-Arbiter-England smiling up at you. These are considered to be the closest reissues to the originals. It has the NKT275 germanium transistor and sounds fantastic. Rolls off nicely and has so much heavy fuzz on tap. You can spend a lifetime researching Fuzz Faces and their many myths and reissues only to end up feeling more confused than when you began. Yes, they are big, impractically shaped, unpredictable, semi-reliable and noisy but there in lies the charm. No two are alike, even the same one may not sound consistent from session to session depending on the situation. There is a reason that they are so beloved and iconic. At least this one won't cost as much as a hatchback. If it feels good, do it!
