I'm the second owner, bought this last year from original owner on the Mandolin Cafe. Excellent sounding instrument, with the most bassy, chunky, woody chop I've ever heard on a mandolin! The G and D strings are just incredibly full sounding, and the A and E strings really pop and ring loudly up higher...perfect bluegrass F5!
X braced instrument, which IMO has more cut and projection than a parallel tone bar braced instrument. Very lightweight mandolin, neck is thin but very comfortable, about 1 1/8" nut, frets aren't worn out at all. This F5 has character, and a unique, big fat sound.
Only reason I'm selling this Gathright is because I have four F5's, all outstanding, I must downsize a little and this one I've had the shortest time. Includes McClung armrest, comes in a brand new, never used Travelite case. $2200 shipped.
