Here for sale we have a Gibson SG Standard from 2010 in Heritage Cherry finish. This guitar features a double cutaway Mahogany body with Nashville ToM bridge, StopBar and aftermarket Derek Trucks tailpiece. A set Mahogany neck is fitted and topped with a 22 fret Rosewood fingerboard. Aftermarket Gotoh locking tuning machines have been fitted. A pair of Gibson USA humbuckers are fitted and wired to traditional SG controls featuring a 3-way pickup selector and independent volume and tone controls. The Mahogany neck plays well, with the '60s SlimTaper profile filling the hand nicely without feeling at all cumbersome. The Gloss finish to the rear of the neck is very pleasant to the touch, and assists with smooth transitions up and down the register. The traditional 12" fingerboard radius feels as flat and consistent as ever, offering comfortable playability right the way up the neck. The familiar twin horns of the SG body provide uninhibited access to the upper frets, whilst the contoured edges of the body ensure that it sits snugly in the arms for a comfortable playing experience. The pair of Gibson USA humbuckers installed in this guitar deliver all the hard rock tones you would expect from an SG are clearly present, the pickups offer a nice smooth and rounded tone that is suitable for a wide range of styles. Country and Blues players will like the bite of bridge pickup, whilst the warmth of the neck position can be appropriate for jazzy sounds, especially when rolling down the tone control. Independent volume and tone pots offer comprehensive control of your sound, making this a real workhorse instrument that matches the versatility of the musician. The front face demonstrates light scratching and indentation. The top edge demonstrates light indentations that mark the finish. Light circular scratching and delamination is apparent around the winding pegs due to the tuners being changed by a previous owner.Neck: Overall very good condition. The rear of the neck and fingerboard demonstrate light scratching and indentation. The nut, fingerboard and its edges display black scuff marks from a previous owner attempting to stain the fingerboard. A very fine lacquer crack can be felt on the treble side of where the neck and body meet. This poses no structural concern.Body: Overall very good condition. All aspects of the body demonstrate light scratching, scuffing and indentations. Most notably indentations either side of the tailpiece and to the side of the bass side horn. Notable scuffing to the finish is apparent to the rear face edges, with the wood beneath exposed at the lower bout rear face edge.Condition of Frets:The frets demonstrate mild signs of use, with light to mild denting in the early register, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform.Current Set Up:Truss Rod: Fully functional.
