Overview
With a similar design to the typical Les Paul Custom, the appropriately-named Gibson Les Paul Custom Lite set out to give players a slightly lighter instrument with a body contour on the back for more comfortable playing. Its body was about 1 3/8 and featured gold hardware and, occasionally, a Floyd-Rose tremolo, which significantly devalued the price of the guitar. A recent reissue of the Les Paul Custom Lite was released in conjunction with Gibson's Modern Classics series.
