About this listing
Wichita Band Instrument CompanyWichita, KansasA SUPERB SELMER MARK VI TENOR SAXOPHONE; serial #204,985 (1972). “9.5 on a scale of 10.0”.Have a look at the photos, if you would. The instrument has come to us in "close to perfect" condition.American lacquer is 99% original. ONE TINY end-bow ding and solder repair to the low Eb key-guard. See photos, please. The original zip Chesterfield Combo (clarinet & flute) case is solid, very good.Original Selmer mouthpiece looks like it’s never been played.Very good original American lacquer with superb engraving.Note the key-touches for the LH pinky keys….no scratches, no lacquer wear.Low B & Bb speak easily, no hesitation in any way. Intonation is “perfect M6”, meaning the low notes (for me) were just a bit sharp. Normal stuff for a M6.I’ve got two similar M6 altos at the present time, the other with 98% original bright silver finish. Both instruments are superb and, for the life of me I cannot tell you which is the better. But if you’re looking for a nearly PERFECT M6, this one’s close to it. I recommend it highly.NOTE PLEASE. This superb tenor was acquired by us from an elderly friend whom I've known since 1958. He bought it new, played it for a couple of years and hasn't touched it since. Yes, we can give you his name and contact info!Sax questions? Write me! Nope, I’m not a top concert player, but I’ve tooted on thousands (literally) of Selmers and do believe I can offer a candid and honest opinion on any saxophone subject.Respectfully, GR**** COMING SOON!!*** Mark Six tenor #97,200 (1962), 99% original bright silver. See our Reverb postings in October! ***HGWichita Band Instrument Company is a small musical instrument emporium located in the center of the USA. The owners are Kansas natives Gary L. In the event that a customer requires service under factory guarantees or Wichita Band’s service warranty, the item must be returned to us and not directly to the manufacturer.**** WICHITA BAND INSTRUMENT COMPANY / WICHITA, KANSAS / USA
