At its core, the Chop Fuzzz delivers the same massive, full-frequency fuzz circuit that made the original Dr Freakenstein Fuzz legendary—earth-shaking lows, searing highs, and incredible sustain. Despite its aggressive tone, it remains impressively quiet when you’re not playing, thanks to a built-in noise gate that keeps things tight and controlled.
Beyond the fuzz, the Chop Fuzzz introduces two types of modulation, a unique pressure-operated expression pad, a tunable drone function capable of ring mod tones, and a hard-edged tremolo effect—all interactively designed for maximum sonic experimentation.
The OVERTONE control acts like a wah with the texture of a phaser, controllable via knob, the included Igor pressure pad, or CV input. The LFO section modulates the signal with triangle-wave movement, offering both slow, evolving motion and fast, audio-rate oscillation—switchable on the fly. Engage the CHOP function for squarewave tremolo that can pulse, stutter, or slice your tone into rhythmic textures.
A Hi/Lo intensity switch, modular synth CV compatibility, and the signature “eye meter” visual feedback complete the experience.
