About this listing
The Custom 24 is the quintessential PRS guitar—the iconic instrument that started it all in 1985. The Custom 24-08 retains many of the core features of the original Custom—a maple top, mahogany back and neck, 24 frets, a 25” scale length, the patented PRS Gen III tremolo, and Phase III locking tuners with wing-style buttons—while adding a new level of versatility thanks to TCI pickups and mini-toggle EQ switches.TCI pickups are designed to deliver a full, musical sound reminiscent of single-coil and soapbar-style pickups. When engaged (in the up position), the two mini-toggle EQ switches act as high-pass filters, removing low frequencies and allowing high frequencies to pass through, resulting in greater clarity and a more musical tone."The EQ switches were first developed and introduced on the Private Stock John McLaughlin model in 2023. Both John and I felt they offered a different, yet equally versatile, sound that played a significant role..." in the musicality of that guitar. "I’m happy that we are now extending this feature to more models." – Paul Reed SmithPatented PRS Gen III TremoloA meticulous design that offers sonic fidelity, player ergonomics, and revolutionary tuning stability.PRS Phase III Locking Tuners with Wing-Style ButtonsCombining modern locking technology with vintage elegance, these lightweight tuners enhance sound transfer, resulting in a more powerful and resonant instrument.PRS TCI PickupsMusical pickups that offer a versatile sonic palette—from bright, single-coil tones to the full-bodied sound of soapbar pickups.
