About this listing
A 2013 Historic Collection 1959 Les Paul Standard has arrived! Marking the 20th anniversary of the Gibson Custom Shop, the 2013 model represents a major update to the Historic Collection. It embodies a deep commitment to authenticity, featuring a hide-glue-joined fingerboard and neck, a tubular truss rod, long studs, and an aniline-dyed finish?just like the vintage originals. The pickups feature Custom Buckers, newly developed using Alnico III magnets based on an analysis of vintage PAFs. They deliver clear highs and rich harmonics, producing the powerful yet delicate sound characteristic of a Les Paul. The knobs have been replaced; there are scratches and dents throughout the instrument; the back of the neck, the back of the body, and the sides show signs of fading; and the metal parts have a dulled finish. More than 70% of the frets remain, the neck is in good condition, and the truss rod is adjustable. The original knobs are included but are cracked.
