1969-70 Fender Telecaster Electric Guitar - Blonde ash body, based on 289190 serial number it could be either a very late 69 or early 70 guitar. Very cool guitar with lots of mojo and positive vibe. Original finish reflects lots of playing wear, has had a tasteful middle pickup route at some point in its life. White pickguard has mother of tortoise shell underneath, slightly warped and a screw hole chip on one edge. Very light at 7lbs, .48 oz. (about 7 lbs. exactly), very resonant and plays super great. Green ink code is 3 22 017 B. Had been refretted at least once and the frets were worn out. Fretboard was leveled and refinished with 3-4 coats satin nitro over new Stewmac Medium/Higher frets, 7.25 radius. Neck relief is 1/64", new bone nut, fret height now is 1.20mm+/-, action height is 3/64". Very thin .25mm card shim under the back of the heel (it arrived with a .55mm shim). Truss rod works great and is smooth to turn. Appears to have had a second string tree installed and removed at some point in its history. Back of neck has a couple very tiny little ding marks, retains original finish and feels smooth. Some loss of finish on the sides of the fretboard.It has been routed for a middle Strat style pickup at some point in its life. The original neck pickup is included, was recently re-wound by Fralin (7.22 ohms). Fender reissue flat pole bridge pickup (6.54 ohms) and the installed neck pickup is 8.87 ohms. The current neck and bridge pickups are polarity matched. The aftermarket bridge pickup it was delivered with is included in the sale - it is polarity matched to the original neck pickup, also included. Strung with new set of D'darrio 009s.Knobs appear original, pots, 3-way switch and jack are modern CTS, Switchcraft. Unsure about provenance of control plate. Jack cup appears original; bridge and saddles appear original - due to rust, I swapped the three intonation screws and one of the saddle springs but the originals are included with the sale. Strap knobs appear original. Original case is in great condition, missing internal accessory case strap, couple missing 'Fender' letters in case script. Ash tray included, not sure of provenance, but looks oldish - no odd smells in the case.The guitar is very resonant and plays and sounds amazing, would make a great gigging guitar.Note 1 - I re-weighed the guitar this morning and it weighs 7.03 lbs, not 7.3 lbs.Note 2 - I installed the original neck pickup that Lindy Fralin rewound. Sounds amazing! I also installed a different pickguard for the heck of it, looks great and allows for easy tweaking of neck P/U height. If it sells, it will ship with the original pickguard only...unless negotiated during the sale. I pick this thing up and play it every time I walk by the room...Note 3 - I mis-measured the fret heights, it's around 1.20mm+/-...sorry!Note 4 - Why buy a 're-issue' when you can get a 50-year old 'real issue'...!
