About this listing
Les Paul Collection He’d spend every weekend at the empty factory halls of Epiphone in order to work on the realisation of his concept of the ideal guitar. Around in 1941 Les Paul built “The Log” which was his first prototype of an electric solid body guitar. He used a block of maple wood which he fitted with a bridge, pickups, tailpiece and a normal Gibson guitar neck. He then cut along one his Epiphone guitars and glued both halves of the body to the back and front of the block and finished was his first solidbody electric guitar. Standard/Classic Collection The Epiphone Les Paul Standard is the only Gibson USA-authorised replica of the Gibson Les Paul standard and it’s also one of the most sold instruments worldwide. It incorporates the same features that made its big sister from 1952 legendary: Glued-in neck, trapezoid inlays, humbucker pickups for a powerful sound and classy finishes ranging from black to different kinds of sunburst or even gold top.
