Ken Kohno is a renowned Japanese guitar maker. He began making guitars in 1949, and in 1960, he spent six months at the workshop of Arc?ngel Fern?ndez to understand Spanish traditions and improve his skills. In 1967, he won the gold medal at the Elizabeth Concours International Guitar Making Competition held in Belgium. He can be said to be a pioneer in introducing the excellence of Japanese guitar making techniques to the world. This instrument is a custom-made piece based on the "professional-R" model. It features a spruce top, rosewood sides and back, mahogany neck, ebony fingerboard, rosewood bridge, wood trim/rose, and cashew finish.
