Martin Handcraft Committee II “Lion & Crown” Alto Saxophone
Beautifully restored and professionally overhauled vintage American alto saxophone. This is the highly sought-after Martin Handcraft Committee II “Lion & Crown” model, renowned for its rich, powerful tone, excellent intonation, and strong presence in jazz and vintage saxophone circles.
The body has been chemically stripped of lacquer to create a natural raw brass finish, a modification many players appreciate for its open resonance and lively response. The original nickel-plated keywork remains in remarkably beautiful condition and gives the instrument a striking vintage appearance. Keywork is nice and tight.
The saxophone has undergone a full professional restoration, including:
- Replacement of all needle springs
- New corks and felts throughout
- Complete mechanical setup and regulation
The instrument plays effortlessly from top to bottom with a full, resonant sound and outstanding response across the entire range. Intonation is exceptionally stable for a vintage horn, which is one of the reasons these Committee II models are so highly regarded among jazz players and professional musicians.
A rare opportunity to own a fantastic playing example of one of Martin’s finest vintage saxophones.
