The Iris DF Smeck Distressed – European Spruce & Indian Rosewood captures the timeless character and vintage-inspired charm of classic American acoustic guitars, combining traditional design elements with thoughtful modern craftsmanship. Featuring a European Spruce soundboard paired with Indian Rosewood back and sides, this instrument offers a beautifully balanced and expressive voice with excellent clarity, warmth, and dynamic response. Scalloped Adirondack Spruce tone bars enhance the top's responsiveness, providing impressive projection, articulation, and a lively tonal character that rewards both delicate fingerpicking and more aggressive strumming.

The DF Smeck's distinctive 12-fret neck joint and slotted headstock give the guitar its unmistakable vintage aesthetic, while the 25" scale length contributes to a relaxed playing feel and a warm, responsive sound. The full C-shaped Mahogany neck offers a substantial yet comfortable grip, complemented by an Indian Rosewood fingerboard featuring a 16" radius and traditional blind fret slots. Small plastic fingerboard dots provide understated visual detailing, while the Indian Rosewood bar bridge with slanted string holes adds to the instrument's classic design.

Vintage-inspired appointments continue throughout, including black, white, and black top purfling, Ivoroid binding, and a matching B/W/B rosette. A traditional celluloid pickguard, bone nut and saddle, and off-white plastic bridge pins complete the understated aesthetic. The bolt-on mortise-and-tenon neck joint reflects a practical approach to construction while maintaining the character and feel of a traditional acoustic instrument.

Finished in an open-pore satin nitrocellulose lacquer with a carefully distressed appearance, this Iris has the inviting look and feel of a well-loved vintage guitar. Golden Age Relic brass tuning machines with off-white buttons provide a fitting finishing touch to the slotted headstock. With a 1 3/4" nut width and 2 5/16" bridge spacing, the DF Smeck offers comfortable string separation and excellent playing versatility. Strung with D'Addario Light Gauge Phosphor Bronze strings and supplied with a TKL hardshell case, this Iris DF Smeck is a beautifully executed tribute to classic acoustic design, offering vintage-inspired character, exceptional tonewoods, and a distinctive playing experience.
