Tascam X48 Digital Recorder - the recorder has been modified as per the Tascam forum. Replaced the old motherboard with an Intel D525MW.Performed modification to perfection as can be seen on the back. As will have happened to many sound engineers, the problems with the old motherboard have been completely solved. Can record quietly at 96Khz with no problems, ultra quiet recorder. Stable and reliable at least as far as I could verify (24 tracks at 96khz). Read more about the modification in the Tascam forum. Complete with two Adat cards for a total of 48 optical channels. I also send the Tascam d-sub connectors that I had to remove.
It now performs mkII installation, reports as mkII and is completely SILENT. Another advantage of the Atom motherboard: passive heatsink cooling and low power consumption/cpu heat.
