Anamod ATS-1 Analog Tape Simulator

The ATS-1 is a device that recreates the characteristics of a two-track analogue tape machine. It does this without the drawbacks of digital plug-ins or processor-based gear, such as latency or compromises in sound due to A/D or D/A conversions. It does this by utilising the AnaMod Process. It does this entirely in the analogue domain, without digital technology. Specially designed analogue components replicate the characteristics of analogue tape.

The ATS-1 includes all the important features of an analogue tape machine, such as speed selection, bias, LF Record and HF Repro EQ. It even allows the option of adding tape hiss for a more authentic experience if desired. The illuminated VU meters indicate the reference Record level, adjustable from 0 to +12 dBu in 3 dB increments.

This device accurately models specific tape machines and tape formulations, offering up to four machine and tape types to choose from. It comes with two tape machine cards (M-800 and M-79) and two tape formulation cards (T-GP9 and T-456). Additional machine and tape types can be added easily using installable cards.
