BIGZUN RC2 Eurorack Passive Low Pass High Pass Filter Module 2HP Modular Synth
BIGZUN RC2 – Passive Low-Pass + High-Pass Filter, 2HP Eurorack Module (assembled and tested)
RC2 is a passive low-pass + high-pass filter in just 2HP. Two smooth 6 dB/oct filters, one knob each, no power cable – and one signal can give you a dark and a bright version at the same time.
What it does
- LP (low-pass) darkens a sound by removing highs – clockwise = brighter
- HP (high-pass) thins a sound by removing lows – clockwise = thinner
- IN HP is normalled to IN LP: with no cable in IN HP, both filters hear the same signal. Patch one source into IN LP and take a dark version from OUT LP and a bright one from OUT HP.
- Patch OUT LP into IN HP for a simple band-pass.
Gentle first-order filtering with no resonance – great for warming up a saw wave, taming noise into wind and sea textures, cleaning the low end of pads, or slow hand-played sweeps in the classic Berlin School style.

Good to know
Being passive, RC2 works best between a normal module output and a normal module input (around 100 kΩ). Very low input impedances after it, or another passive module before it, narrow the range – this is how all passive filters behave. It is designed for audio; for smoothing CV use a slew limiter.
