Vintage Japanese Iida four-string tenor banjo, believed to be the gold-plated Model 239 from the 1970s.

This is a high-quality Japanese Masterclone-style tenor banjo featuring ornate Hearts & Flowers-style fingerboard inlays, decorative peghead inlays, gold-plated hardware, engraved armrest, flamed maple resonator and elaborate binding and marquetry.

It is fitted with a substantial tone ring and delivers the bright projection, clarity and sustain expected from a professional-style tenor banjo. It is suitable for traditional jazz, Irish-style playing with an appropriate setup and tuning, or other four-string banjo styles.

The banjo is in Good used condition, with visible cosmetic wear, marks and natural ageing to the finish and gold plating. Please examine the photographs carefully, as they form an important part of the description.
