Ovation Breadwinner 1972 - EXTREMELY RARE! PRE PRODUCTION PROTOTYPE! - Possibly the first one ever made!Through extensive investigation and information we have discovered that this model example is an extremely rare pre production prototype from the year 1972 designated by the serial number 854 *which is before the actual factory mass production. From the year 1973 and up the serial numbers were designated by the following sequence - E+4 Digits. *This particular example is most likely one of the very first pre-production prototypes which has the input jack on the inner lower bout cutaway. *This early prototype pre-production guitar also has the non embossed plates only used on the first prototypes. All later models from 1973 had a pressed embossed neck plate and back control plate with the Ovation logo etc…All of the hardware and electronics are original as it left the factoryTwo 2-way toggle switches: Bridge on-off and Neck on-off. Both pickups are in phaseThis prototype does not have active pickups or battery like the production modelsSounds and plays greatComes with original pre-production case which is in rough shape but does the jobExtremely rare and collectableThe original teenage owner modified the body paint a little but not overall. Apparently painted part of the bottom blue at some point and then painted it over in white again.
